Why Mobility? What’s In It For You?

WHY MOBILITY?

I absolutely love yoga and movement through group fitness. I started group fitness back in the Jane Fonda days – in 1988. I never thought that I would come to love it as much as I do now and what a wonderful impact it would have on my life. I have also seen so many beautiful and positive results through the community at Mountain Yoga Health and Wellness and have especially been surprised at the positivity that yoga and movement have brought to my life. I have always enjoyed interval training, step aerobics, circuit training and other similar exercises. I had no plan of doing yoga until I was asked to sub a pilates class for a friend years ago. I went to her class in preparation to sub and I found that she was actually doing a combination yoga-pilates. It came as a total surprise and I was hooked. I immediately registered and took a basic yoga teacher training course so I could start teaching yoga.

For me, it has been important to incorporate all times of movement into my health plan. I find that classes that incorporate Cardio endurance training, muscle endurance training, muscle strength training, flexibility and mobility, and balance have enriched my life and in a big way. We try to pass this philosophy on to our clients at blue mountain Yoga Health and Wellness.

It is also well documented in the literature, that any type of movement as we age increases our lifespan (links below for articles that support this science).

Do you want to be able to get down on the floor with your kids or grandkids? Do you want to be able to practice sports with your kids without the threat of injury? Are you of advanced age and want to reduce the risk of fall? Do you want to just feel better? Are you like me having anxiety and stress in your life and want to decrease this? check out our schedule. We have something for everyone. Give us a call at 423-488-3283 and let us do an assessment and make a plan for you! We can enrich your life! We are a beautiful low-key community.
